A man was recovering Friday night after being shot and wounded in Menlo Park early Friday evening, police said.
East Palo Alto police received call at 5:15 p.m. about the a shooting on the Dumbarton Bridge.
When officers arrived they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound and near his car which was parked on the northbound side of Highway 101 at Woodside Road, said Menlo Park police Sgt. Kevin Paugh.
The victim was treated at the scene and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Paugh said.
Police said they believe the shooting occurred on the westbound lanes of the Bayfront Expressway between University Avenue and Willow Road in Menlo Park.
The suspect’s car is described as a dark green, four-door car. There were four black male passengers inside the car at the time of the shooting, according to police. The suspect’s car was last seen traveling westbound on Bayfront Expressway toward Willow Road.
Menlo Park police officers were still investigating the incident. No further information was available as of 9:10 p.m.

Doctors at a Bay Area hospital performed a triple transplant, giving three young patients three new hearts in three days.
In a rare medical fete, surgeons at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital transplanted one heart a day for patients James Spencer, 18, of Susanville; Amanda Sechrest, 20, of Lafayette; and William Wylie-Modro, 17, of Palo Alto.
Dr. Daniel Bernstein, a pediatric cardiologist, said the hospital just happened to have three organ donors available in a short period of time.
Sechrest was first to receive a call about a heart. At the time, she had lost 45 pounds and was sleeping in her dorm at St. Mary's College.
"It was really shocking because I thought I was in the middle of a dream," Sechrest said. "I feel good, I'm blessed."
The next day, William Wylie Modro, a graduating senior at Palo Alto's Gunn High School, who is headed for the University of California San Diego this fall to study aerospace engineering, was whisked into surgery.
"(I'm) very happy and very thankful," Wylie-Modro said. "I certainly wouldn't be here without it."
The next day, another heart was available for James Spencer, a freshman at Santa Rosa Junior College who loves all things Giants-related.
"I feel great," Spencer said. "I feel like I have a whole new second chance."
All three young people are giving thanks from the bottom of their hearts -- their new hearts.
"(The families) lost someone who was important in their lives and they gave me a second chance," Sechrest said.
With the five-year survival rate for heart transplants, the story should have three happy beginnings.

A man arrested in March for having child pornography at his Daly City home pleaded no contest Thursday to one felony count in exchange for up to one year in county jail, prosecutors said.
Gordon Lee, 44, was one of nine men arrested during a sweep of suspected child pornography users and distributors in San Mateo County.
On March 22, investigators with the multi-agency Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at Lee's Daly City home after determining that someone had been downloading and sharing child pornography from the Internet Protocol address there.
Investigators found child porn on the computer and seized numerous CDs from the home, prosecutors said.
After initially pleading not guilty to charges in the case, Lee pleaded no contest in San Mateo County Superior Court in South San Francisco on Thursday to one felony count of possession of child pornography.
Lee, who is out of custody on $10,000 bond, will return to court on July 13 to be sentenced. He faces up to a year in jail, according to the district attorney's office.
